Malcolm Ranieri's World of Railways and Vintage Transport - Part 2
A two part evening with a presentation of Malcolm Ranieri's classic images in the first half - please note: Malcolm himself will not be at the Circle for this show. Malcolm is credited with FRPS and MPAGB recognition, and is a correspondent for "Old Glory." His atmospheric steam and modern traction photography is frequently published, along with that found in several books of his own. Malcolm has kindly provided this follow-up to his first similar-style presentation, along with accompanying notes for each photograph. Digital presentation featuring a wide selection of carefully selected UK and European steam, - including traction engines -and modern, which will be presented on his behalf. The evening will be concluded by Bernard Mills with his Railway Recollections North East, featuring the Woodhead route, thence to the North East for industrial steam in the early 1970’s.

The Rhätische Bahn (RhB) Revisited by John Fissler
RhB’s extensive metre gauge stunning network in the Graubünden canton of Switzerland includes the UNESCO listed Albula and Bernina lines featuring the highest open air railway crossing of the Alps as well as the Rheinschlucht. John Fissler continues his presentation on the RhB concentrating mainly on routes and material that time did not permit at the February 2017 meeting.

Maybachs in the West & Tribute to the Warships by Steve Andrews of Classic Traction
Classic Traction is one of the most prolific producers of railway DVDs, and this evening will mark the launch of not one, but two brand new DVDs from the Classic Traction Collection. In Maybachs in the West we follow the exploits of D1015 Western Champion on the main line over the last 12 years, following it from Bristol to Penzance as we hear the glorious sound from her twin Maybach V12 MD655 engines. Tribute to the Warships marks the 60th anniversary of the introduction of the production D800 'Warships,' and we see the last two survivors, D821 Greyhound and D832 Onslaught at work through the former Southern and Western Regions. A whistle-stop tour of the Scenic railways of Western Europe by Stuart Hammond
We journey by rail from Plymouth via Paris and Southern France to Rome; thence to Switzerland via the Rigi Bahn and Pilatus Bahn. We follow the Golden Pass line and take the Bernina Express to Tirano. We also call into Austria to see the Brenner route, before travelling through Germany for the Hartz Mountains Railway; and return home via the Black Forest and scenic rails of the Rhine Valley.

Richard's 25 Years of Railway Reminiscence by Richard Hay
Richard has amassed an interesting and wide collection of photographs featuring railways in Britain, across much of Europe and points further afield. This dual slide & digital presentation shows some of the highlights of those travels; touching on British mainline and preserved operations, ‘Plandampf’ steam in Germany, sugar cane workings in Cuba and the mighty Chinese QJ steam locomotives. Featuring a variety of trains; steam diesel and electric, in exotic and not so exotic places in-between!
