The Classic Traction Review of 2018 by Steve Andrews of Classic Traction - NEW DATE
High quality video review from the cameras of Classic Traction. Steven ensures a show which includes aspects of modern traction in preservation alongside the highlights of steam that he has caught on film for us to enjoy. A show not to be missed and there will be an opportunity to purchase the ever-popular range of Classic Traction DVDs at the evening at the usual PRC discounted price - so dont miss out!

Strictly Stralsund by Richard Green
Richard illustrates his 2016 European foray to north-east Germany with the Basingstoke group. The Molli and Rasender Roland narrow gauge steam operations feature strongly, along with the standard gauge railways used to access them. There is also a transport museum, a model railway, a trip to Poland and quite a lot more. As always, something for everyone. Digital presentation

With our recently revised set of competition categories, there's something for everyone in which to participate, both as contributors and as judges. You will vote for the best photograph in each category, as shown on the big screen, the results compiled and the winners announced this evening. Take a chance, enter whichever categories you wish and see how our members vote - you might go home with a first prize trophy! (*once names are engraved)

The Devon Belle by Ken Mumford
A journey on this once renown S.R.Pullman train from Waterloo to the West Country, visiting places of interest en route as far as Sidmouth Junction. Ken takes us on the route of The DEVON BELLE – let's journey westwards and visit some of the places on the way as our journey unfolds. (Postponed from 2018 owing to adverse weather). Evening visit to Bere Ferrers for the Tamar Belle hosted by Chris Grove.
Travel by 18.23 service from Plymouth; return by 22.46 service. If after the main event has finished and you wish to visit the local hostelry, please allow 15 minutes to walk each way. Cost: includes hot running finger buffet on arrival with tea/coffee and a desert included for the sum of £10 per head including the tour & visit. Alcoholic & soft drinks also available from the bar. Please pass cash payments to Fixtures secretary on arrival.

Rowtor Military Target Railway, Okehampton
Meet at 7pm at the car park before Okehampton camp. From A386/30 take road into Okehampton Town Centre, turn right at traffic lights by "White Hart Hotel", turn right again opposite church into "Station Road" (signposted Camp), keep straight on into "Tors Road".
Walk is over open moorland to railway - wear appropriate footwear.

Visit to West Somerset Railway
We travel by train at group rates for this visit. The West Somerset Railway has kindly agreed to provide guided visits at no additional cost. Attendees will need to arrange to travel by car or public transport to Bishops Lydeard, meeting at 10am. Cost: £16 per person. Small donations on the day in respect of shed and signal box visits would be gratefully received by the relevant WSR departments involved. Appropriate sturdy footwear for shed visits recommended.
Confirmed itinerary:
10:15 depart Bishops Lydeard
11:35 arrive Minehead
Look around engine shed and signal box (split groups)
14:30 depart Minehead
15:18 arrive Williton
Look around engine shed and talk by DEPG staff
16:00 end of tour; enough time to go into Williton for shops/ pub refreshments
17:18 return by final steam hauled train to Bishops Lydeard

Redlake Tramway, Ivybridge
Meet at 7pm for a visit to the southern end of the Redlake Tramway to see the remaining structures.
From A38 take the B3212 into Ivybridge and through the town towards Ivybridge station and Bittaford. About half a mile beyond the station the chimney of Cantrell Works will be seen on the left hand of the road. Turn left into mirror road just past the chimney, pass under the railway line and continue to end of the lane. Walk is over open moorland please wear appropriate footwear.
