The Plymouth Railway Circle is saddened to hear the passing of our dear friend Terry Nicholls. Bernard Mills has written a small tribute:
Terry Nicholls sadly passed away yesterday 05 August 2021, a great friend I had known since 1964, a life time of railway service, a great photographer and a proud family man. My deepest sympathy to Geraldine his wife and her family. He was a man of steam through and through, and like me got rather fond of the Hydraulics. Here we are doing what we liked best when we were young and able.
The Plymouth Railway Circle organised a tour of the North West Sheds in May 1968, here is the party stood by Black 5 44949 at Newton Heath Shed 18 May 1968. From right to left Russell Maiden, Terry Nicholls, a young Charles Holdaway stood in front of Len Hutton, Ken Holdaway, a much younger yours truly, chap next to me can't remember , Larry Crosier and Russell ? Happy memories, Terry has joined Ken Holdaway and Larry Crosier in that big engine shed in the sky, RIP, thanks for the memories and friendship and my deepest condolences to his dear wife Geraldine and her family.
